Cycle “UM: The PhD Thesis in Sociology” on Tourism and Culture

 

The second session of the cycle, “UM: The PhD Thesis in Sociology” will occur on July 30, at 5 pm. The session will address the theme Tourism and Culture and has Márcia Silva and Bruno Goulart as speakers.

Márcia Patrícia Barbosa Silva has a degree in Geography and Planning and a Master in Sociology and is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Minho, Portugal. She is a researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre and develops research in several thematic areas related to the city, tourism, and mobility study. Márcia is the author and co-author of several national and international publications. She is developing her PhD thesis in Sociology on tourism and the city.

Bruno Goulart is a professor of Cultural Heritage at the undergraduate course in Anthropology at the University for International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony. He has a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Brasilia and a Master’s degree in the same area from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. He researches Brazilian popular and traditional cultures, cultural heritage policies, cultural policies, and traditional knowledge in universities.

The session will be held via Zoom.
