HAPI (Diet habits in the child population of Guimarães)

Objectives: This Project aims to (i) obtain a representation, by studying a sample of the population, in what concerns their diet habits, anthropometrics characteristics (including the occurrence of weight/obesity), physical practice and the resources available for this practice;  (ii) identify the aspects that need improvement, outlining a intervention project (HAPI intervention). The results will be presented to the school community and a diet education plan will be proposed in first grade public schools of the city. The global result of HAPI will contribute to an improvement in the diet choices of children, families and school communities, the promotion of physical activity, and counteract the growing tendency and frequency of excess weight and obesity.
