Tema do 13º Seminário Almoços CICS: “Droning on about flying machines: legal perspectives on domestic civilian UAVs”

Resumo abreviado: The nature of contemporary UAV/drone technologies will be discussed, highlighting the regulatory challenges they pose. In particular, the EU data protection and privacy issues, UK regulation of use by police for surveillance and UK/EU air safety rules will be explored. The adequacy of the existing framework of regulation will be questioned and new approaches that might address these problems will be proposed.

Nota biográfica: Lachlan is a Ph.D researcher at the Mixed Reality Lab and Horizon Digital Economy Research Centre, University of Nottingham, UK. His background is in information technology law and in his doctoral research specifically focusing on the intersection between regulation of autonomy, human computer interaction design and ubiquitous computing.
