Objectives: This PhD research project is the first approach to planned lesbian families in Portugal. Through a qualitative methodological approach, based on individual interviews and in group with lesbian women who have dependent children, jointly planned, we intend to capture the representations of these women of their status as mothers in a heteronormative social context and how this influences how they manage their daily maternal identities in the context of their networks of family, neighborhood, friends and professional sociability.
