Objectives: This Action will develop a new concept of well-being, focusing on the process and strategies of ‘creating’ individual and social well-being: the individual’s empowerment within the household and in the family, increasing the family’s resources, capturing opportunities in local and regional markets, and, finally, collective action and negotiations with the state. Even more important, the Action will systematically look at gender differences in the conceptualization and perception of well-being itself, and in the process of its creation, distribution and measurement.
