Genetic databases for forensic purposes, in Portugal: routes, actors and discourses

Objectives: To produce knowledge that can contribute to the debate around the potential “benefits” and “threats” created by a DNA profiles database in Portugal, with a prime focus on the ethical and legal problems associated with individual rights and freedoms and the aspects associated with the alleged increase of the efficiency regarding security and the prevention of crime.
