Objectives: To show, through appropriate methods (text, photography, film and audio), the opinions of the population on the sanctuary, through the analysis of the individual memories and the social practices organised there. This task will be linked to the research of the historic place and the brotherhood responsible for the sanctuary and annual pilgrimage of Santo Antão da Barca. Due to the sanctuary relocation, this process will be watched very closely, giving special relevance to the pilgrimages of 2012 and 2013. These will certainly be two symbolic and extraordinary moments for the local people. The pilgrimage of 2012 is the first one to take place in the new location of the sanctuary, but in provisional conditions, and finally in 2013 all the conditions will be as planned.
