Objectives: This Project aims (i) to understand how the ageing process develops over time and in different cultures, societies and political environments; (ii) to evaluate the health, socioeconomic conditions, family situation and social networks of people over 50; (iii) to explain the interaction between health, work and employment conditions; (iv) to identify the impact of social policies on the life and health conditions. *SHARE is performed by 20 European countries and Israel, and is harmonised with the following projects: U.S. Health and Retirement Study (HRS) and English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA).
